Ask Me Help Desk - Coin values

I have seen a lot of questions on here concerning coin and paper money value. A search of PCGS coin values will give you the current values according to grade. Or with paper money, just search it. I'm not sure if PCGS deals in paper.
Or you can go to eBay and get last years Red Book (coins) at a discount. Sure it will not be current to the year, but values don't change too much in a years time. But I understand that most people find something old and are just asking out of curiosity and possible excitement. Unless you happened onto something really special, most of this old stuff is common. Like the person who wanted to know the value of a 1919 Lincoln cent. If I owed $71.51 at the grocery store, I would put in a 1919 penny just to get two quarters back. However, I understand how most people just simply don't know values. I think everyone has a little drawer filled with these old coins. Even if there is no actual value, it's a very neat thing to have. And you never know, you could have a treasure.

True, a person could try other sources of information outside of this site. However, part of the reason that this site exists is for people to ask questions and for others to give them accurate and helpful information on a personal level. There are Experts and others here who love to give out "live" information and have discussions with others about what they are wanting to know. This is one of the handful of sites that offers that sort of "live" interaction and help.

This site is like a huge encyclopedia of knowledge that gets excellent exposure when people do searches for things on the Internet. Flying Blue Eagle is at least one person on this site who has the current documentation concerning coin or paper currency value. I'm glad that he's a member of this site and also willing to give of his free time in order to give the people the personal attention that they are seeking by joining this site.

That very point is something I meant to mention. The personal level aspect.
