How to file an abandonment warrant against AP
How do I file an abandonment warrant against the father of my daughter? I called the child support people and they told me to take out a police report and fill for a warrant at the courthouse. Well the police department to me to go the sheriff's department. The sheriff's department told me to go to the district attorney's office. All they did was go into the system and made a request to have the absent parent's license suspended. I was also told there that after being 90 days delinquent, a court date would automatically be generated. What do I do until then.

Sorry, you are getting the run around, but its not atypical. Abandonment is not the right charge here. Abandonment only applies when a child is left totally unattended for a time.

If I understand you, the father has stopped paying court ordered child support. If that's the case, you need to go back to the court to get a contempt of court citation that enforces the court order. The family court can swear out a warrant for him and order grnishment of his salary or similar. Some areas have very active child support agencies that will go after the father, others don't. If you are not getting public assistance, then you might consider applying for that. That might spur the support agency to go after him.
