I own a Pontiac Sunfire 1997 2.4L. For the past year I've smelt a smell of gas when I enter the car, but now it has gotten worse and the smell is very strong. I tried looking for any leaks but found none.

Does it go away after driving?
Could be the fuel pressure regulator. Could be leaky injectors or cracked o-rings.
After you park the car for a while... do you see any gas on the ground?
Yes the smell tends to go away, but I cannot find any gas on the ground.Quote:

A friend had the same car and same problem.For him it was a cracked filler tube,worth it to check.
