Hello everyone wondering if you can shed some light on this situation, October last year my mother had been suffering from a bad head for 6 - 7 days then had a seizure which was put down to a drop in blood pressure. April this year she had another seizure and was diagnosed with a suspected brain tumour as she had all the symptoms, since then she has had another seizure and is currently taking Oramorph medicine and has Durogesic patches that are worn on a daily basis. My mother has been for 4 MRI scans 1 of which was under sedation because she is claustrophobic, the sedation was not strong enough and now we are no further forward and she is in pain every day.

Do you have a question for us? I'm sorry, but the above is more of a statement than a question, and I don't know exactly how to answer you.

The thing is my mother is getting worse not better she has more bad days than good she is almost house bound and the doctors are'nt doing anything until December! And that is just to be reviewed I am just asking what can we do to try and help my mother have a scan as she is claustrophobic.

There are now "open" scanners available for patients who are claustrophobic. Also, sedation such as versed works very well.

If she is getting worse and cannot be seen until December, I would be looking for another doctor.

We tried looking for open scanners and the nearest was London, we have also asked about stronger sedation like what you get at the dentist (medazalan) and it is not available at our local hospital, what did you mean by versed sedation?

Versed is a medication used here in the US that causes a patient to be relaxed, yet not quite asleep. They can respond to the doctor when asked simple commands, yet don't panic and rarely even remember the procedure.

Yeah I think that is what we are going to do they can't just ignore us either that or go private thanks again.
