Spouse of a EU citizen rights in other EU countries
    Hi there,
I am legally married to a french national.I got a dependent visa for 5 years in Italy as I am a non EU citizen. If I want to move and work in another EU country, what are the rules for applying for a work permit there taking into consideration that my wife will continue to stay in Italy till she finishes her contract a her work place.Secondly I have been asked by the General medical council in uk to prove that I have EU rights.Do u have a clue what should I do?

    Thanking you

There is no provision in the EU law that will allow you to reside in another EU country while your French National spouse lives in Italy. Your right to abode is contingent and dependent on your French National spouse. There are provisions in most countries' laws that would allow you to continue to reside in an EU country in case of your spouse's death or divorce [but these regulations vary, a lawyer can tell you what the specifics are for Italy].

In short, you cannot legally reside in the UK just because you have an Italian dependent visa via your French spouse. When your French spouse moves to the UK, she can take you with her.
