Hi,
My dog had puppies on Sept. 5 one was born with a clep lip. I took the mother and puppies that same day to the vet. The vet told me to keep an eye on the puppy. Over the weekend I noticed he was not gaining weight. Last night I started bottle feeding him. What are the chances he will survive? I am not giving up on him. We are feeding him every 2 hours... Another thing, he just popped with a little bit of blood in the stool. Is this normal?
Poor little guy! You probably will need to take him back to the vet. He may have more problems than were initially realized. Blood in their poop is never a good sign. Especially in puppies.
I'm glad you are not giving up on the little guy. He's relying on you to help him out! Some people would just give up, and think he's a lost cause. :( Hopefully the vet can help him, so he gets to be a happy pup!
Sorry I couldn't give you any better advice, but another vet visit is your best bet!

Sometimes a cleft lip means a cleft palate--which means there's an opening inside the roof of his mouth so that some of the food goes to the wrong place. I hope your vet checked for that situation and ruled out a cleft palate.
Can surgery be done like for a human child?
I'm so happy that you are keeping an eye on the little guy, and getting him the help he needs. I agree about the cleft palate, and I would hope the vet has checked that out. I can't imagine him/her not doing that. Often little pups like yours, with a bit of a disability, turn out to be forever grateful, and make the best and most loving and loyal pets! I hope he makes it too, and even though you have to tube feed him, and he hates it, I bet he knows that you are doing everything you can to help him. If he survives, he will be forever grateful to you.

I regret to inform that my little angel lost his battle today. My family and I are devastated. Yesteday he stopped urinating. I stayed up all night and nothing. This morning he was in distress. His eyes were reddish too.
I took him to the vet and she said that he had organ kidney failure. She was surprised because he was doing so good. It turns out that the weight he was putting on, so I thought, was not... he was retaining liquid...
She recommended I put him to sleep because it was only going to get worse. He was dehydrated. His organs shut down.
I am so sad. I cried and cried, but deep down inside I have some relief. I gave a change to live and did everything possible to help him, around the clock feedings, giving him special attention. I'll miss him so much. He was my companion.
We buried him. I'll miss him...

Oh gosh! That made me cry. I'm so sorry! You did so much for the little guy. I KNOW that you will be repaid with great Karma for trying to save his young little life.
Don't stop what you are doing. You are giving such a good life, however long it is, to these little babies that have no voice of their own.
I'm sure he knew how much you loved him and wanted to save him from any pain.

I must say I would have done the same... lol! I have a couple of rescue dogs that were "special needs" and you know, you fall I love so HARD w/ these amazing dogs that you don't really care what you have to do or how much you have to spend on the sweet creature that has stolen your heart. It's just uncontrollable how we need to make sure they survive and thrive... GOOD ON YOU! I bow to people like you. Xoxoxoxo

Well, you are such a commendable person for having gone the distance and for having such a kind spirit. I maintain my posititon in looking up to you for wanting to save a life and being so brave in the interim.
Don't ever stop trying to help a dog in distress. I saved two out of the three that I attempted. You can't win 'em all, but you CAN still win...

Go adopt another baby.. go give a rescue dog a forever home... the gratitude that those dogs offer you every day is SUBLIME! You'll see..
