Statute of Limitations on Old Debt?
I have debt that is about eight years old. I filed for Chapter 13 when all of this was going on, but dropped out after a year so many of the debts were never even paid a dime on. I haven't had any correspondence from most of the creditors named for years. Now, in the past week I have received letters from two different creditors on those accounts. Actually, they are debt collection companies on their behalf. Two questions, can they still sue me after a certain period and why after years of no contact do I hear from two different creditors in the same week? What would have sparked all of this again?
