    Leak under bathtub
How do I fix the elbow that the bathtub drain connects to under the tub?
This is on a slab, but there is a hole in the slab to where I can see dirt.

    Hi Jshstoney...

Tell me exactly what part is leaking at the tub drain? Is it the overflow assembly or the drain pipe below the tub waste assembly?

Is it #14 or is the pipe below #12?

    Let me know.

I assume you are talking about P-trap... If positive, than you have to have Access Door right behind the tub. If you don't have one, you will have to cut on in. But, before you cut, go to Home Depot, buy new Access Door first. Put access door on the wall, mark its size with pencil. Carefully cut a clean rectengular hole 3/4" smaller than the size of the door. Remove the cut-out. Do your repairs. Take new Access Door and snap it in- over the hole. No patching, painting is required. Access doors come in several sizes. We use 14"x14" door. The size is big enough to allow you to do the required repair.
