    Washing Machine Drain Pipe Overflowing
We moved into our home 3 months ago and just today my washing machine has gone crazy. When I wash clothes and it gets to the drain cycle the water starts to drain out but the PVC pipe that runs through the floor and out of the house has started overflowing and running all over my laundry room floor. I have a hose connected to the washing machine that runs into the PVC pipe and I can hear the water going into the pipe but then it starts overflowing. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this. Can I pour Clorox down the PVC pipe to see if it will clean the pipe out?

Don't do any chemicals yet. How large is that PVC pipe and what is it connected to? A stand pipe must be at least 2", preferably 3" and it needs to be connected to a 3" or larger drain line. It could be slightly clogged and needs rodding. You can also make a sealed connection to the pvc with a hose adapter if needed. Lets be sure its not clogged first.

Just like stated in previous post: it is most likely a case of a clogged drain.
