    Canada-China tax treaty
    Hi,

I have heard that due to the Canada-China Tax Treaty signed in 1986, Chinese citizens in Canada can benefit from it in terms of income tax. But I have no idea about the details such as how much tax exemption a Chinese can get, how long a Chinese can enjoy such benefit, if at all, and what Articles I should look for in terms of law or polity clause. What about a US permanent resident with Chinese passport? Does that make a difference in tax benefit?

    Thanks very much.

Sorry, but this forum addresses U.S. taxes.

You can download the U.S.-China tax treaty, the technical explanation of that treaty, PLUS get IRS Pub 901 for a synopsis of the treaty in question from Internal Revenue Service.

I suspect you SHOULD be able to do the same from the website for the Canadian counterpart of the IRS. Recommend you check that out.
