You mean Aluminium + Copper (II) Chloride dissolved in water?

This is a displacement reaction, where the more reactive metal displaces ( or takes the place of) the other less reactive metal to form the salt of the previous metal. Which is more reactive? Aluminium or Copper?

For example, magnesium is more reactive than iron. Therefore, if you add magnesium to dissolved iron (III) sulphate in water, you end up with iron and magnesium sulphate.

Post your answer if you've understood.
