    Hi ! I been getting calworks (welfare) for the 4 to 5 years for my 3 daugthers & my question is I want to become a U.S. Citisen soon will that affect me when I go & apply?

    Absolutely.. the main issue of immigration is the government do not want anyone to become public charge (receive welfare, etc.). What you should do is stop receiving this $$, and establish your record of income, taxes, etc. Get child support from the children's father.

    You would need to have a clean record for at least 3 years before you apply for naturalization.
