I strongly suspect that my landlord is taping parts of the house I rent, including the bedroom. On several occasions I thought that I even heard his voice being broadcast in two rooms, including my bedroom. At my insistence, he had a friend of his check the house for wires, then I got my own wireless detector and checked myself. His friend found nothing.

I investigted independently and have found evidence that there is a signal, and the police came to the house, but did not feel I had enough evidence to file a comlaint. I have always paid on time, and even months early, but for the last two months while "we" were investigating this, I have not paid rent because I don't want to pay a voyeur.

I am now looking for a new apartment. Help.

What do you need help with? Sounds like you're handling the situation. Yes, you're going to have to pay rent for the time you lived there. Even though he may have been watching you, you still have to pay. If he sues you, you'll lose.

You have to pay rent if you live there - I'm sure the landlord will eventually take you to Small Claims.

Hire a licensed private investigator to "sweep" the apartment more than once - he/she is paid to work for you, unlike the Police who have little interest in matters like this.

This isn't necessarily legal advice, but if I was certain someone was taping me I would tear the wall open if I had to - to prove it. Just be prepared to fix any damage you do if you're wrong.

You found that there was a signal? I'm sorry, but that's not exactly evidence of anything in this wireless world of ours. When I log on in the morning, my computer can find 3-5 wireless network signals, none of which are mine, but that's hardly evidence that someone is secretly taping me! So, what kind of signals were they, and why do you think that means someone was taping you? I agree with Judy... hire someone to check for hidden cameras.

Yes, I do sweep my home from time to time, there are radio signals from cordless phones in area and more, computer signals, you have to pin point the signal

When you say you found a signal what exactly did you find ? What kind of structure is this ? In one part your say house and another part you mention apartment. The reason Im asking is because it is possible its all in your head but have a source causing it. Errant RF at high enough leakage can caus the feelings your having and when you look for the source nothing exists. That's why its important to know what kind of signal you had found.

LOVE to see someone have a case that sets precedent on things like this - lots of cases, lots of places, all different.

Hidden camera, hidden microphones, suddenly finding your photos on the Internet is becoming a problem - would LOVE to see a definitive case.
