    Leaks in ceiling from A/C
The bathroom ceiling in my father's house caved in from leaks in the A/C system. We were told that rats may have eating the rubber insulation in the water return supply pipe producing condensation. We insulated the pipes as much as we could reach. Six months later the ceiilng show leakage again. We were now told that the ducts need to be replaced (installed in the 70's - not metal) as the joints are old and condensation is leaking. Is replacing the ducts the best solution? Thank you

Check your condensation drain line. We have attic systems where sometimes the line gets kinked - or clogged with mold.

... just something that's easy to check yourself before paying for someone to diagnose it for you...

Stay tuned, though, we have a few good HVAC folks here who will probably pipe in too.
