    Heat pump location
I recently purchased a ranch style home in S.W. N. Carolina that has about 2200 sq. ft. of living space with a full basement. It presently has radiant heat in the ceilings that is not working and I wanted to replace it with a heat pump. Where is the best location to put the "inside" part of the heat pump assembly, basement or attic? Is a 4 ton unit the proper size for this application?

Basement location preferable especially with a single story home.

Call and get at least two estimates for price and needed size.

A manual J should be done to size the equipment and a manual D for the duct work.

You cannot guess at size of unit or ductwork and manual J and D takes all the guesswork out of it. Enjoy your new system.
