You need to visit a Doctor for an informed diagnosis. If it is in deed edema (this is tissue swelling with water) it is because you have not been drinking enough water. The kidneys will store water in the tissues which cause swelling when you have not been drinking enough water. This is why people have been telling you to drink water. People worry about water weight gain so they stop drinking water when in fact they should do the opposite. Cranberry juice is usually the advice given to help with bladder infections, but antibotics work better.

My personal experience with swelling was related to my kidney's but it wasn't because I wasn't drinking enough water, it was because my kidney's were not functioning properly...

I would suggest you go get a urinary test done by your doctor... :0)
