Is it possible to check the status of another persons case? I am still married but he was scheduled for deportation. He appealed in March 2007 and I have heard nothing further. I needed to separate myself from him and his lawyer so I'm trying to get status of the case without having to contact his lawyer. I would also like to move forward with the annullment but need to know if he's still here. What can I do to get this info (preferably) without having to pay an online search service.

His attorney may or may not let you know if he is still in US, but for his case status, it's confidential. USCIS will not tell you even you're still legally married. So if you want to file annulment or divorce, better let your divorce attorney handle this search as court order might be needed. Online search is not updated especially in case of new immigrants.
