Toning of Indianhead cent
Im hoping to catch the experts eyes on this one. Or anyone can offer an opinion. I have a 20th century type coin collection housed within a Whitman book with vinyl sliders. My Indianhead is a 1899 that was very red when I bought it. In the 5 years it has been in the book, it has developed some serious rainbow toning. Beautiful in the sunlight!! I know this is due to the acidity in the book itself. Is this toning purely subjective as far as value? As to say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
