New Tap fitted now water smells
I have recently had a new kitchen fitted but have now noticed that the water has a smell, its definitely not the drains as it smells more like Wood/Creosote type smell, there are no smells from the bathroom taps at all, could it be a problem with the Tap?

That's a new one on me! I'm wondering if there are some wood fragments in the aerator/ bubbler of the faucet. Unthread it and take it apart and clean the screens. While you have it off, open the hot and the cold and let it run awhile. Maybe some wood fragments got in the line during construction.

When you say you had the kitchen fitted could you tell us the details? What all was replaced in the kitchen? The smell could be some caulk or silicone used to seal drains.

Could it be the glasses? Take a glass from another place, and make sure that it has no odor. Then take the glass to the kitchen faucet and fill it. Now take the glass to another room and see if you smell it. Maybe ballengerb1 is right, and you are just smelling the wood there in the kitchen.

I'm with Al, particularly if by "new kitchen fitted" you mean new cabinets. Could be finish on cabinets. Odor could be accumulating in glasses.

Dazz may have been overcome by the smell, bet we hear more tomorrow. I need to hear what was installed when the kitchen was "fitted"
