    Ceiling fan with remote
I have a Hampton Bay Northport III with a remote. I recently had to replace the fan because the light would not turn on with the pull chain or the remote. I replaced it with the same fan and now 6 months later, same problem. There is power going to the light.

Hampton Bay may look like a high class fan but its pretty much a store brand name for Home Depot. More of a work horse than a limo. It may be odd for two fans to be bad but well within the possibility for your situation. If there is power to the fan and both pull chain and remote fail you got 2 lemons. Plesae reassure me you always check the bilbs.

B, Hampton Bay aren't work horses, they're horses that need to be shot and put down.

Murbanosky, Try removing the remote receiver and wiring the fan without it. You should be able to control it with the pullchains.

I have a harbor breeze remote and I can't figure out how to reverse the fan. It has a remote light also dims and brightens up. I think it is how you do the light then the for/rev button. Thanks Gary

Gary, look for a button smaller than the light and speed buttons, sometimes on the side. That should be your reverse button. There may also be a slide switch on the side of the housing but that is usually not an easy reach.

The remote has 6 buttons top left (on/off) (High)

    (For/Rev.) (Med.)

    (Light up/down] (Low)

If you hold the light button the light will get brighter or dimmer. It is a white remote.
    There is no side switches.

    Thanks Gary

Ok, what is your question? You mentioned the forward/reverse button.
