    Is my weedwacker seized?
I was using my $200.00 weedwacker today and it suddenly stopped. Tool is about 2 years old. I tried to pull rope to get it restarted and rope will not move. Is my engine seized?

Do you mix oil with the gas?

Remove the spark plug and tell us if you can pull the rope. Look into the hole with a flashlight, tell us what you see. I hope Stratmando is wrong going down this road. It will get expensive if he is on the right track.

Yes I mix oil with gas, in fact I may have put too much oil in. Can too much oil ruin my engine? I will take out spark plug and look at it today. Thanks

Oil much oil can cause it to not start but it should not cause it to seize like you described. Tell us what you found when you pulled the plug.

Lots of dirt on the cooling fins will cause this from lack of cooling.

I took the plug out. It is black/grey. Peeked inside and that is black/grey also. Looks burned up to me.

See If you can pull the side cover and see if it can turn by the bolt on the end of the shaft.
Many 2 strokes LOOK like they are burned up.

I am not sure what you mean I should do.

This engine may be shot so lets try some unorthadox approaches. Pull the plug and spray a heavy dose of WD 40 or liquid wrench into the combustion chamber, soak for a while and then try to pull the rope.

I was saying, if somehow you could try turning engine over, other than with a rope to determine if pull assembly is jammed and at fault and hopefully not the engine.
