This is normal. It can take a couple of years before you get a real regular period. You may come early, late, or skip a month or two when you first begin to get your periods.
After menarche(ur first period), it can anywhere from 6 months to 2 1/2 years to get into the 28-day rhythm of a menstrual cycle.
Heck mine still are "normal"...
Yours sounds fine, but never be embarrassed to talk to your mom about it... you know she has probably gone through these talks in her head since you were a little girl :)
This is normal it will take a while for your period to settle down into a routine, don't worry
A fluctuating cycle, especially first starting... not weird at all.
Fearing talking to the one EXPERIENCED menstrual expert in your house... THAT'S weird. Your mother is an instantly accessible source of information about everything sexual in nature. If you won't talk to her out of embarrassment, then you don't fully appreciate who she is. She is the one person who not only has this info, but knows YOU better than you know yourself.
Talk to her about it, start mastering those pesky feelings of embarrassment now. They're not in your best interest. You need to not only be able to talk to her about THIS, but there is a lot more stuff coming at you quickly over the next few years. She's perfectly equipped to be there for you, and you just don't realize it yet.
So many girls miss the opportunity to turn the mother/daughter relationship into a friendship/confidant relationship. Don't be one of those girls.
