Are you saying the wiring in your house consists of 4 wires, which are white, green, orange, and black? What country are you in? For the US I would expect that you have either red/green/yellow/black (all solid colors) or one pair that is white-blue and a second white-orange.
I have seen phones jacks wired with thermostat wiring. Doesn't sound like phone wires.
Keep same colors as on jacks. Reidentify as red/green/yellow/black.
Red and green are line 1, yellow and black is line 2.
I would convert your wires:
White to yellow
Green to stay green
Orange will be red
Black will stay black.
Connecting category rated wiring will be:
White/blue to green +
Blue/white to red -
White/orange black +
And orange/white to yellow -.
