How do I get the child in school. I have been taking care of the child over the summer.
I do not want the child to go into foster care or be taken from my home. I willing to take care of the child. I am the child's godmother.

When my aunt and uncle had temporary guardianship of me they just went to the school with the papers and signed and registered the same way they were for my cousins I was in school with. I would imagine it would be the same for you. If the school says no though it seems like they would have to tell you what they need you to do to be able to register the child.

Since you have the paperwork take it to the school. You will need shot records and a birth certificate and a social security card. Most schools will work with you.

Well the grandmother, does she have any legal custody of the child. How can she sign over rights unless she has the legal custody of the child to give. Being a grandmother gives you no special rights to give custody unless you had legal custody to start with.

And notorised is just a witness it does not make a paper any more legal. Also each state and sometimes districts have requirements.

So the mother, who is homeless, has she signed custody over to someone or has CPS given custody to the grandmother

I don't see that the Grandmother had the ability to sign any paperwork unless she was the legal guardian.

Was she?

In my area you must prove that the legal guardian signed over temporary guardianship in order to enroll a child in school.
