First of all, how old is your daughter? You will be surprised what habits children pick up as infants. My daughter (4yrs) sucks her arm when she is tired. I am sure as she gets older, she will grow out of this.

MMM I had a friend who at 19 yrs old still used to suck on her thumb. Reason being was that her mum removed her dummy at a very young age, too young actually. And till this day (she is 27 now) she still sucks on thumb.

I would try giving the little one something to cuddle with at night. Such as a doll or teddy bear she adore. How old is she? Some people grow out of it and then again some don't. My sisters is 27 and 25 and they both still suck they thumb. So good luck with the advice, let me know how things go.:)

She's 5 year old kid. She sucks her thumb only when she feel sleepy or hungry. Due to this her upper teeth are deviated in their growth

Try putting something bitter on her thumbs, something that will discourage her from putting them in her mouth. Lemon juice for instance. This should be corrected before her adult teeth come in.

Children do often grow out of it of their own accord- my daughter stopped when she was seven. However, you can get nail varninsh which tastes very bad and deterrs children from putting fingers in their mouths- this can help with thumb sucking and biting nails!
