My water heater tpr is leaking should I replace it?I check the psi and its 100psi is that good or bad?

Are you saying that your water pressure is 100 psi?

Juntol... couple issues here for sure.

You need to replace the TPR valve for sure.

How did you check the pressure and did you check hot and cold water? Code requires that pressure doesn't exceed 80PSI so you clearly exceed that.

Here, you should probably install a pressure reducing valve on the cold water main supply just after the meter... see picture below.

Let me know if you checked both hot and cold pressure. If increased pressure is just at the hot water then you have a very dangerous situation that will need to be dealt with immediately!!

I check it by putting the pressure gauge by the water heater where u drain the water (garden hose valve outlet

OK... check outside by the faucet... let me know what you find there.

It is 90 psi outside next to the regulator valve. But I don't have any water pressure at my shower upstairs.thank u

Any chance you can tell me exactly how hot the water is? I just want to make sure this TPR valve is not bleeding off due to excessive temperature is all...

Otherwise, should replace the TPR valve and then get a pressure reducing valve installed... your faucets/pipes/heat system will thank you in the long run.

Then come back and we'll see what we can do to improve the pressure at that shower upstairs!!

No I don't sorry

I would go to home depot or similar and get a new temperature and pressure relief valve and then purchase a thermometer that reads into the higher temps (past 120F)... take a reading and if not much over 120F you will just need to replace the valve.

Then get that pressure reducer installed... ;)

Hi I did change the water pressure regulator and the water heater tpr. So far there s no more leak but the problem is still not getting enough pressure at my showers

Did you remove the shower heads and check them for sediment buildup at the water saver washer inside?

Hi again , I took off the shower head and run the water without it and still no pressure ,especially when somebody is using the other bathroom

Is it that you don't have any water pressure or that you don't have any hot water pressure? Is it the shower only or all faucets upstairs?

Answer Harold's questions... then go downstairs and check to be sure all shutoffs are open fully.

Next would be to remove the shower trim plate and see if there are inline shutoffs there (slotted head to left/right of shower valve, but on shower valve itself).

This makes me want to ask, How old is your house? What type of water pipes do you have? Plastic, copper or galvanized? What brand of shower valve do you have. Loose pressure on hot? Cold? Both?
When someone flushes a toilet when you're showering do you get skalded?

My house is a 8 years old and have a copper plumbing.Shower handle is price pfister brand and have single handle(inside are small srews and small springs)no pressure on both hot n cold. If somebody uses the toilet or the other shower I only get a dripped of water . Thank you to all the response. Have have a nice day
