    Rumors at school?
This year, I'm starting at a new school with my friends. All of a sudden I've got this weird feeling about being talked about there. I don't know why I'm so upset about it I keep thinking people are going to tell rumors about me and I'm going to end up worrying about it forever! I want to stop thinking I'm going to worry forever. Any help or suggestion? :(

It's a pointless and selfish habit you're developing. The more time you spend thinking about yourself, the less time you're spending DOING good for others and making a good impact on the world.

I know it's hard, but there's no magic trick to avoiding self-doubt and self-worry and self-ANYTHING. You just have to push it away as irrelevant and get back to LIVING out loud.

Your fears are normally greater than reality. I used to think what you think all the time. The honest truth is that 99% of the time, you aren't being talked about. And if they do talk about you, it's usually small stuff like "look what he/she is wearing, i like/dislike it", etc.

Now lets pretend that people are talking about you, and you find out what it is they are talking about. If you defend yourself, will they really believe you? Can you really do anything at all? From experience, no you can't. So there is nothing you can do but to let them talk.

So what can you do? Concentrate on your future. If you just live like you want to with no regrets and not making foolish decisions, then they will have nothing to talk about. So the answer is in your future, not your past. Just let that go.

And if you are worried about everyday life, then you need some help. Tell your parents, tell your friends, or find someone out there who knows you well enough to formulate a plan with you to help you.

I used to be the ugliest, most shy, least popular kid in high school. I'm 28 now, and was voted the best looking, most successful guy at the reunion. I even got asked out by 4 ladies. :) Things change, don't worry about today or yesterday. Focus on tomorrow and the days ahead, and you will be fine.

I know exactly how your feel. But so what if they do, just be you, and don't let it ruin your life. Rumors are stupid to me, so I ignore them, within a couple of days they go away and its old news. Just be you and don't let people get you upset xxxxxxxx

Im sure your just feeling that way, because everyone is checking out the new kid, No worries, if you make eye contact with someone.. smile and say hello. I moved a few times in my childhood. If you smile it makes other people smile. Your smile and brief hello may get people to notice you but in a good way... "that new kid seems nice" and you might get the chance to get to know these strangers. Give it a try.

I know the feeling. Only I know for a fact that they're talking about me [I]and[I] my friends. People will take any opportunity and any little difference in you to make something up and it will spread like fire. But this feeling of paranoia will die down once you settled into this new school. Besides you have your friends with you and if they're half decent they'll try and dull your worries.
Besides even if they are talking about you, what does it matter? They just dumb people that have nothing better to do, you are above them and they shouldn't matter to you.
