My ex-wife recently remarried to a man that is in the military. It turns out that this guy is very abusive to her, physically and mentally. There's been several times this guy has put his hands around her neck in front of my 9 and 14 year old. Both of my kids are very unhappy and scared of this guy. I found recently from the ex that he has spanked my daughter and has been physically abusive to my son as well. What does a guy do that has little money for court costs or doesn't know anything about the courts? How can I get custody of my children?

Well I would turn my internet off, stop cable TV, sell my furtiture if I had to , to get an attorney, Work two jobs.

You can also try legal aids, and call CPS to investigate abuse on the kids,

You can go to family court and tell them you are the dad and you want to file for custody because they are being abused and tell them your concerns. You can get a public defender if you are low income. As long as you haven't signed over your rights you should be able to do something to protect them.

Being that he's in the military, I would suggest going to his command and speaking with them. If you let them know what kind of environment your children are in while around him, they will take immediate action.
