I've been told by one of these members that this site is not for telling my issues/secrets, but for showing consistency. First of all, what does that mean.. Secondly, should I not share my concerns, I see other people doing it. Should I just stick to answering questions rather than asking them? Maybe I'm not supposed to mix the both? CONFUSED... :confused:

I'm confused too. I have no idea what you are talking about.

The main purpose of this site is for people to ask questions and get help with specific problems. However, because any site like this develops a sense of community, we have created a Member Discussion area where members can just "chat" about things. This area is less formal that the specific topic areas.

You can post any question you please, and get feedback, whether you like it or not. That's the nature of the beast.

Well depends on what you mean by sharing your concerns ? If it means complaining about another member, normally not. If it means talking about your concern that the earth is going to end in Dec by the space aliens, go ahead,

You want to share your secrets, heck go ahead, I don't know I want to know what underwear you use, ( and certainly don't want to know if excon does boxers or briefs)

Part of the issue is often as a NEW member, too many come in and start trying to tell eveyone how to change things or that everything is wrong

I did note when you first started, you had a habit of arguing with other members and were somewhat offensive in your posts. *** there were several deleted and I noted a few more that most likely should have been.

I argued w/ people? There were posts of mine deleted? I guess I really am more like my mother than I thought. Fr_chuck thank you for your honesty. I guess I really need to take a better look at who I am... (I just really don't feel happy lately and it's seems to be showing). Maybe it's more than just lately...

I reviewed your posts and there were 3 posts deleted as argumentative in one thread back at the end of July. So that may have been a one time thing.

Sweetdee is referring to me - big surprise there! - and "I've been told by one of these members, etc." is an absolute misquote of what happened. This had nothing to do with questions answered and everything to do with questions asked.

This was a situation of half the situation on one thread and the other half on another thread. Read together each post entirely changed the advice I would given on the other - and I never read the second thread until I had answered the first. I brought the inconsistencies to OP's attention and she responded that she thought the site was for "sharing secrets."

My comment was that basically you can tell whatever secrets you want - but you have to then own up to what you've posted and don't be surprised if people add one and one and get two.

It is a disservice to the moderators to complain and misrepresent the situation.

You say "it has nothing to do w/ questions answered and everything to do w/ questions ASKED" YES... exactly. I'm confirming that. Am I not allowed to discuss my questions that I'm ASKING? (Am I the only one confused?).

I'm new. I'm trying to get some advice. I think you guys are awesome, Judy included. I am a different kind of character (I suppose) here in comparison, I think because I'm having an effect which is not necessarily good here. I mean no harm or disrespect. I just am noticing that I'm struggling w/ getting along w/ some people. I have legitimate concerns. I've been going through a lot the last couple of months... and then I find this site and get all excited and maybe I've been pouring out all my issue too fast and too soon. I should have paced myself so as to not come across like a psychopath... SORRY everyone. It kind of was like eating way too much chocolate because I found a big bag of them and I'd been deprived for a ton of years:(... I just keep everything bottled up inside me. I don't share my worried or fears w/ ANYONE in real life. I hope I can still count on you all. Maybe I should just go... I just was hoping that I could get some help, is all...

I'm hard on myself, ay? I know, I've been told a million times in my life. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for the compliment. I can't believe there is SOMEONE out there that doesn't see me as a total upstart and mental case, even though in retrospect I see how I do come across that way.

Yep too hard on yourself, I delete more posts on some people every night ( every night on every day) than you have had deleted since you have been here.

Well, it's a new day... and I have decided that I'll risk having had upset some people and myself over a few issues, BUT I like you all and respect you all and need to open up and talk to people about MY issues for a change... So, I'm STAYYYYYYIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG and not walking away like a dog w/ it's tail between it's legs.

I now have learned that I can be difficult... and w/ knowledge comes power.. power to change! I hear you all... and I'm up for the challenge. In this world of "words written", rather than "words spoken", sometimes the effect a point of view takes is a little harsh. I'm aware now. I'll be paying attention and stepping up to the plate... Really glad you have decided to stay, as every person here is valuable. There is much that can be learned, and shared. Its also a great place to vent, get support, and give it, and you can meet people from all over the world.

I'm glad I stayed too talaniman. I can't even believe I've FINALLY taken steps to opening my mouth about my personal issues. How soon is too soon to get onto another one? LOL!
