Clearly feelings are still there or else you would have answered quite simply : Leave me alone. But now that he is leaving cut the contact for good since clearly it has not helped you move on yet. Regarding your question, just state that you are not together and you didn't see a reason to come and visit him, unless you told him you otherwise before.
