There isn't a specific height.
We normally stub-out a wire from the floor, or from the wall. If from the wall, I say it's no more than 6 inches off the floor. I only had to install one receptacle outlet for a dishwasher in my entire career, and in this case I based it on the dishwasher.
I either put it horizontal right on the bottom plate (there is no base moulding behind a DW), or I install it in the sink base cabinet and drill a hole to pass the cord through.
One major concern is that you do not use the small appliance service to supply power for the d/w receptacle. That would be a violation of the NEC code. Also, if you are installing the outlet below and inside of a cabinet, you do not need to GFCI protect the outlet.
One other thing, if it is at all possible run a 20 amp cable to the outlet and use a single receptacle. Essentially, you would want a dedicated line source from the main panel to the outlet. So you will need a Single receptacle, Single receptacle face plate. #12 AWG cable. Junction box and a 20 amp 120 volt breaker
Sounds good, but what is the small appliance service? I will follow your suggestion. Thanks, KenQuote:
