Why would a child have feelings of hatred towards his/her own mother ? What could possibly trigger this ?

It could be anything as clough suggested. Me and my partner both have a daughter each from previous relationships and our ex partners have at some point manipulated the children. I had my own daughter hit me once and tell me she hates me. She is only 4. has there been any problems with othr members of the family, what age is the child
