Can't plug in the telephone line.
    Hi,

My sister bought a used PC.. the CPU has no slot for plugging in the telephone line.

Is there anything we can add/replace in order to plug in the tel. line?

    Thanks.

You would have to purchase a modem. A Data/Fax Modem with Voice would be way to go.

This would be installed by taking off the cover of the computer and putting the modem in one of the open slots on the system board. More than likely you would need to get a PCI Modem.

Can you post the specs or brand of computer if you would know them, would be able to provide more accurate info with a little more about the PC itself.

    Thank u seahwk83.
I just checked with my sis. She says the CPU brand is "Super View", it's Pentium 4 & the modem is already installed, but there's no (what do u call it).. space... in which to plug in the tel. line..

If there is a modem, there would have to be a spot for the phone line to connect to in the back of the computer

    I found this with superview

    Axonix SR300 SuperView Rackmount PC P4 2400MHz 1024MB 120GB CD/DVD ROM

    If this is the PC
The motherboard is a Micro Star (MSI) MS-6533E

    MSI Computer Corp. - Product

With the information provided in this link, there is no modem but there is an ethernet connector which would not be for phone line

A modem for this board would have to be added into one of the PCI slots

How did your sister determine that there was a modem?

Just because there would be a spot for the phone line if modem in one of those PCI slots
