Removal of a felony from record
I have been doing right by all means and trying to get a good paying job by ALL means, I have a family 2 support and my felony no matter how old keeps me from gainful work. I know I do not need a lawyer to file papers... right? How do I get my felony sealed with a low budget so I can take care of my family? Sincerily, walking a straight crooked line

Different states/jusidictions have different policies, many state exclude the possibility. If your are able.you first need to find out if your eligible, demonstrated "change" since you never said what the crime was.. let just pretend it was anger... did you attend anger management... and so on. Since different state use separate registries, its highly likely an employer will discover full criminal history. It may be best admitting a conviction.

Maybe start with asking your local resource centers. Ive heard it very hard to find decent employment.. Best of luck to you...

    Hello b:

You're right. You don't need a lawyer to file the papers. But, this isn't simply a matter of paperwork. It's a matter of convincing a judge that you are a worthy candidate for expungement. It's Isn't automatic. The problem you're going to have is that you're going to have a prosecutor on the other side of the table telling the judge what a terrible person you are. You're going to need an equally competent lawyer on YOUR side of the table telling the judge that you ARE worthy of having your petition granted.

You may only have ONE shot at this. I'd certainly give myself they best shot I could.
