    Liability Insurance
Is it possible to buy only liability insurance rather than the total homeowner's policy? I live near the water and the cost of insurance is prohibitive and the deductibles are ridiculously high. I do not however want to be without liability insurance.

Depends on your state. In some states, if you have a primary homeowner's policy, you may extend liability to a secondary residence.

Unless you own the home and have no mortgage, you are required to have full coverage.

If you do own the home free and clear, I'm sure you could purchase liability only.

Can't give progunr another greenie just yet until I spread some more around. He/she is right on the money, if you have a mortgage it will dictate what you must have for insurance. Liability will not fly with a mortagae holder. If you own you can buy or noy buy anything you want. Don't you feel the need to protect the home from fire, flood and/or storms?
