Each employer will provide you with a W2 to cover the amount they pay you during the calendar year. I would bet that the employer you worked for in January and again starting in September will issue you just one W2 covering the full year. So that would be two W2's to include in your 2008 income tax return.

You can work for any many companies you want. Each company will report on the W2, the wages paid by it and taxes withheld.
On your income tax return, you must report all the wages from all the W2s.
Tax-wise, there is NO PROBLEM with your changing employers. You just need to aggregate the income and tax information on the multiple W-2s you will receive.
Now, as a matter of law, changing jobs CAN be a problem, because normally the H-1 visa is sponsored by the employer. You need to ask your NEW employer if they will sponsor your H-1 visa.
