    Collections confusion
I have a Sears MasterCard, I was contacted by Citibank saying due to not making payments they need to full amount paid now.. I tried to work something out, but it was full amount or nothing. I sent 200 dollars right away. 2 day's after Citibank called I received another call from a collections co. saying I was now turned over to them, and they were demanding full payment. The 1st caller was horrible, I might add. There were several phone calls after that, that weren't any nicer, I had sent an additional 100 money order off to this collection co. and also ( which after reading a lot, learned I shouldn't do this !) I agreed to do 3 over the phone post dated checks, May June 250.00, and on July the final for 206.00. My total was 806.00. Yesterday in the mail I received a new bill from Sears, which I am not sure why? Plus, it now is more because of a late fee, and interest charges. I am worried about who to pay? If the collections has this, and I do the post dated checks, they are post dated to be taken out on the 19th of every month, which will inturn give me a late payment to Sears? Who is it that I pay? How do I cancel the post dated checks? An deal directly with Sears? And if I do this, does that mean I am going to get the people from Pioneer Credit,( who are not anywhere close to nice) starting to call me back again. I just want to clear this up as fast and as easy as possible, and am really confused as to the right way to do it. I would really appreciate any advise I am able to get on this. Thank You

Before you go further you should contact Sears and make sure that they sold the account to Citibank which in turn submitted it to a collection agency. Once you determine the truth about the matter, you then will know who to deal with. While some collections people overstep the bounds, most are pretty reasonable. I used to work in collections and, clients that did not try to duck out, admitted their debt and tried to work out a way to pay it were usually given consideration.

Thank You for your help, I appreciate it. I am just worried about the interest and the late fee's adding up.
