I currently work as management in retail. And the other day while stopping in to buy hair ties, another assistant manager accused me of stealing a pair of earing out of a pack that they sell. I came in, asked where my product of choice was, purchased it and walked out. I was asked to come back in and explain where a missing product had gone. I did so with them telling me that they would call mall security. Whom I was more than happy to talk with. I didnt steal anything. I told them that I was returning to my store and they could talk with me there.
Mall security said there was nothing they wanted to do, other than tell me not to go into that store again. The local police said they where not going to take anything further over a $9.00 dollar item.
The store did take down my information, but i didn't sign anything.
But I want to know is, since I work retail can they fire me?
And what will become of the civil demand process?
