My daughter develped BO within the last year. SHe is wearing deoderant and I explained proper hygiene. I noticed that she had a underarm hair . Just one. Could this be puberty - she is only 8 ?

QweenOO, I would recommend consulting your doctor because that is a young age for puberty. Early puberty can be caused by numerous physical conditions such as a tumor on an ovary or pituitary gland. It's best to have a medical evaluation.

I agree with MrEasy... if it's a concern, have it checked out... but you would be surprised how early many girls are entering puberty these days. I have had a few 9 year olds start their periods while in third grade, some are in need of an early stage bra, and some will start to have issue with body odor and underarm hair. While 8 may be on the early side of the average, in order to have an average, some will naturally start some changes even before that time.
