Maybe since you are new they are giving you time to get use to your work load. I would just be direct. Go to you boss and say that since you are fairly new to position you are unsure of what duties are expected during idle times. Perhaps there are other duties that you could take on. I always like being fairly direct . Good luck.

    Hello mat:

Speaking the truth is an option that I've found works pretty good. Try something like, "Hi Boss. Do you have any more work for me?"

    Hi Mat

Just like excon. Just speak your truth. Good on you for being enthusiastic. Tell them what you are great at as well and you will get to enjoy what you do as well

    Good Luck

I agree totally with everyone. Just ask him for some more work. He will probably turn to you and say I love you. No, I'm just kidding. But he will obviously recognize you initiative. I will also suggest though not starting something that you will not continue. I see it all of the time. New people come in and start doing all of this work then eventually they start doing less work than the veterans.

    Good luck

At my job we have email on our computer. Not the net or anything, but just direct email to other co-workers/boss and receptionists.Alot of times I have a hard time asking my boss a question or I need to vent to her without getting all worked up verbally.I just email her! She is at my job maybe like 3-4 days during the week. And she always replys. So that's an effective way for me to get a point across. If you guys have email.SPANGLISH30
