I have a question this past fri me and my family all was coming back from walmart with groc and we all carried groc in to the house and also my step son went back out to the van to get more carried in and something happened and fell and broke his femor and had be taken to get sugery at the hosp.but at the hosp the cps and the cops all came to the hosp and now at the hosp he's saying 5 different stories so right now me and my husband not alloud around the kids.til next week.they are saying I'm lying about things and my husband is getting accused of doing it.cause my step son said my husband done it then he also has 4 or 5 other different stories.so can they go by his different stories or what.and if they do charge him what would it be and for what if they do it would be 1st time.im confused,what would the charges are if he's convicited.

Why would a child give various stories at the hospital.

What has your attorney said, in these cases you can lose your children forever to the state. You should have gotten an attorney from day one.

Often the hospital judges calling also on the actual injury, since how a bone is broken often tells them a lot.

He's has always told storries and the cps told us we will lget the kids back but I was wondering if he did get chared what could be the charges

The charge could be anything from and including simple assault to child abuse - how old is the child?

I would question why a child would lie about something like this. I can tell you with accidents and any neglect charge I have ever investigated the first story told to the ambulance crew, Police, Fire Department or hospital is the one that the Court goes by.

Maybe there are exceptions but I have never seen one - the first story that is told is usually the truth UNLESS there is criminal activity and someone is attempting to shield someone - such as "who was driving?"
