    Wash cycles timer operation!
 Hi! My washer/dryer combo( Kenmore, mod.#417.99802990 won't wash in the regular nor permanent/press cycles, but washes fine in the delicate cycle! According to the parts list/illustration, the timer is the only component that seems to control this... So I'm thinking the contacts in those two positions inside the timer are worn out, since we've used "reg" & "perm/press" cycles mostly; and if I replace the whole timer unit, it should fix the problem. What do you think!!

I've had this appliance for 11yrs, its given me good service, & I've only had to replace the blower wheel in the dryer once, the drum glide & lower seal twice, & the basket shaft bearing & ball hitch assembly once...

Thank you all for your help!
    Sincerely, Dragster*

I think you have correct diagnosed the problem. Incidentally timers are replaced, not repaired. If you ever saw the number of springs in one you would know why.
