You need to look at what refund if any you were having, and work on the estimate of what your weekly withholdings shouild be to make your refund about Zero, that gives you the max to your weekly check.

On your tax return, you may be Head of Household (higher standard deduction). Read Your U.S. Tax Return: Filing Status: Head of Household

For each kid you will get $3500 as exemption plus child tax credit of $1000 for each kid under 17 in 2008.

In order to claim Head of Household, you MUST provide a home for at least one of your children. To get the Child Tax Credit, the children have to live with you for MORE than half of the year.

If they live with your ex-spouse and you just get to claim them as dependents as part of a divorce agreement, then you still get to claim SINGLE while claiming TWO dependents.
