How can I tell if me and my ex are going to get back together?
I basically was with the boy I love for two and a half years,he then moved away to leeds to work,we started argueing,its been over a year now,but he now has gone to ibiza,all along he keeps saying I still care about you,want you to be happy,I have though been going out living my life.now he's away,he's texting me asking me if I want to go away with him,when he gets back,sending me pictures,before he wouldn't even stay at my house for one night,we saw each other before he went away,he then told me maybe when he moves back home,if he's feelings come back by then we will try again.but not intil then.I don't understand,what's he doing?how can he want all of sudden go away as just friends,please help thanks

I would not wait on this guy and would move on. Do you really think he's worth it? Even if he was to return tomorrow there's no guarantees that your would wind up together.

I mean your already moving on with your life. There nothing else to discuss. He the past and if he want he can be your friend and let it move on again from there. If you by any chance meet some one new go for it, but don't just sit around because he may meet someone also. Things happen in life when you less expected.

Why are you focusing everything on trying to understand his behaviour, you should be worrying about yourself. What do you want ? Do you still feel that there is something goog there? Are you willing to make changes to make it better this time around?
These things are all items YOU should be thinking about and worrying about, sure it is good to wonder why he is acting this way but that is not the priority, you need to take care of yourself first (yeah it is selfish but hey you need to do it sometimes) and evaluate this. Need to love yourself before loving someone else.

You wouldn't be confused if you stop the contact, as what you call friendship is NOT what he is giving you. He sounds like he is keeping you on a string for when he decides to get back home, and therein lies the confusion, as he is hardly a friend, but some one with an agenda for more. Cut the contact, and enjoy your own reality.

Doctor: "So, what seems to be the problem?"
Man: (holding his arm at an odd angle over his head) "Doc, it hurts every time I do this..."
Doctor: "I see. OK, don't do that anymore."
Man: (putting his arm down) "It stopped hurting! Thanks, doc!"

Moral - stop doing things to hurt yourself, even if your used to it.

JBeaucaire- I like your analysis.. this is very true I think we only hurt ourselves somestimes... I did the same I started contacting my ex for closure & then I found myself getting confused again but this was my fault..

To the original poster- lose contact you are much better off in the long run... trust me!

Lose contact and start running in the opposite direction, you will feel a lot better about yourself

There's a lot of men in the world, you should use this opportunity to live your life, and have fun with your friends, live the single life awhile, and date. Ibiza is a big party city, I'm sure he is having his fun in the meantime... and so should you. Don't wait around for him, he will want you so much more if he knows you are living your life, and moving on, and being strong, etc. Ignore him and live your life, it's hard, but you will look back and learn.
