I'm a relatively normal girl (probably). I love my family and my friends. However I have never felt the "in-love" feeling before. I notice when someone is attractive, or funny, or smart, I just don't react in a "love-love" kind of way.

Am I:

a) Incapable of that kind of love

b) Just have'nt found love yet

c) Have'nt recognised the "in-love" feeling, but have experienced it unknowingly

d) Something completley different


I don't think it can be possibility "b" because surely I should have noticed SOMEONE by now. I'm not gay, but I don't seem to be straight either. Could I be non-sexual?

I don't think that you have really been in the can't eat can't sleep, fireworks, can't live without type love yet. It will hit you like a ton of bricks when you are. For example, my boyfriend and I met in high school. He started aggravating me then that turned into flirting and then finally we started going out march 12, 2000 and been together ever since. Neither of us have every had another boyfriend or girlfrined and we have not broken up or anything. We have been through a lot of things and I knew we really loved each other when he graduated and I was still in school. He had to move to another town for college and it just about killed us both. When you find yourself wondering what your going to do without them in your life and how your going to function without them then you will know that your in love.

I have to agree with amer. It really seems to me as if you just haven't encountered that kind of love yet.

And yes, it will most certainly hit you like a ton of bricks.

You'll never wonder if you felt it ever again. It'll be noticeable... very, very noticeable.

That "in love" type of feeling, Romantic love, was invented by the French in the 14th Century!

Males and females didn't relate to each other in that manner before then. In fact, some psychologists think of that feeling being more akin to mental illness than real love. :)

I recommend relating to men in an authentic manner. You can love them without being in that condition called "being in love"!

It seems you have not met the "one" yet. I have also heard of people who have expected love to be such a major thing that when they fell in love the feeling didn't live up to their expectation. You will know when you are in love with someone. You will hate being away from them and love spending time with them, be able to compromise and make each other happy
