    220V commercial dishwasher
I'm trying to hook up a 220 volt commercial dishwasher. The ladder diagram shows L1, LN, and ground. The ground is the case ground. Do I run both hots to L1, then LN and ground to the nuetral bus bar in the breaker box? Or, one hot to L1, one hot to Ln with both grounds off the box to the nuetral bus bar?

It seems funny to me because the wire coming from the L1 plug is not very big.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Is this in your home or a commercial setting?

What panel is it being fed from; main or sub-panel?

    It is a commercial setting(Bar & Grill).

I have a choice of using the main or a sub.

The sub has two spots available (for a double pole breaker), but I may need to add another sub panel for the stage (some bands have requested 220 for their equipment).

I guess that's another question, which would be better (sub or main)?

Since this is a commercial setting it is NOT DIY work.

Your electrician should have no problem hooking this unit up.
