Diverter valve will not shut off shower
I just finished remodeling our basement and installed a slate walk-in shower. I used new Jado shower components, but now I have a problem.
Everything was working as advertised until the other day when I turned the Jado 3/2 port diverter valve (842/177/144) to shutoff the shower and use the hand shower. I noticed that I still had a small amount to water still coming out of the shower head. In the past this was not the case, the shower head would completely shutoff. Now I'm left wondering what the problem is and would appreciate any help.

There is a chance that some debris broke lose during the remodel. Disassemble the valve, clean all ports and O ring, grease the walls of the valve body and reinstall. Let me know if this helped.

Can I do this without tearing up my slate tile?

Sure you can. The handle comes off first and then the escutcheon plate. This will leave the valve body exposed so you can remove the cartridge. What brand/model valve did you buy?

I have not installed a Jado but if you have the paperwork that came with it you should be able to do the disassembly.
