    Intimate wedding etiquette
My daughter and her new husband were planning a large wedding. She decided that wasn't what she wanted. She just wanted a very small intimate wedding. The wedding was very nice with just mom, dad, sister, the groom's mom, dad and grandmother. My daughter sent out very nice wedding announcements within 3 days after the wedding.
Should she be expecting wedding gifts? We also just went to a family picnic for my side of the family. Everybody told the happy couple congratulations but nobody gave them even a card. Does the bride "have the right" to be angry and hurt?

The family picnic was a separate occasion. It would not have been appropriate for people to give them cards or gifts at that event.

It would be appropriate to send a card or gift in response to the wedding annoucement, but not a requirement.
