Wiring a tankless hot water heater
    Hi,

This is my first question on askme for here goes...

I have just bought a Santon 200-240v Electric Tankless Hot Water Heater and want to find out how I wire this item up.
I live in Canada if that is any help. I have a barn that I have installed this is for a little hot water from time to time. My local electrician is not familiar with these tankless water heaters so I thought I would find out for myself.

What gauge wire and breaker does an item like this need? Is the wire the same as my dryer cable, which is a more heavy duty type.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance,

    Adam.

Probably a LOT heavier than your dryer.

First off, there are dozens of these units.
Try posting the specs of the unit, or the actual part number.

    We'll go from there.

How big is the service to the barn?

I've seen Insta heat type water heaters that require anywhere from 15 to 200 Amps, I'm sure also much larger, or a couple in series.
    Need Specs.
