Please Help!! I am a 20yr who just saw a gyno. I saw him because I have an irregular cycle that lasts anywhere from 1 - 3 months and I am trying to get pregnant. I tried to ask him about the possible causes for my irregular cycles but he wouldn't even give me any suggestions. All he did was put me on ovulation meds. Before I conceive I want to know what may be causing this irregularity :confused: Can someone please give me some insight into this problem??

There are a number of reasons you may have irregular cycles... sometimes it is just the "norm" for the individual. Unfortunately, he did what some doctors do, jump right to ovulation meds without even testing to see if ovulation is an issue for you, or determining if there is a reason behind the irregular cycles. Are you sure it was meds for ovulation and not to help regulate your cycle? Sometimes, something like Provera will be prescribed to try and get cycles more frequent or regular. How long have you been trying to get pregnant?
